PERFORMANCE
The standard 3.5L PFDI (Port Fuel and Direct Injection) V6 engine offers a solid baseline of power to get work done. The proven 3.5L EcoBoost® engine is also available. And now, there’s also a direct-injected 2.0L I-4 EcoBlue® bi-turbo diesel available. For additional torque and efficiency, both the EcoBoost and EcoBlue engines offer standard Auto Start-Stop Technology, which engages whenever the vehicle comes to a stop at idle – potentially helping to reduce fuel consumption and vehicle emissions. A new 10-speed automatic transmission enhances every engine in the Transit lineup, providing smooth, seamless shifting.

SAFETY
In regions where weather delivers challenging driving conditions, the newly available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD) is available with gasoline powertrains. It can make all the difference between leaving for a destination… and actually getting there. Using sensors, it calculates road conditions and monitors a variety of factors including speed and throttle. The system then responds, seamlessly delivering torque and power where they’re needed most. In Normal mode, it continuously monitors and optimizes torque output with the capability of sending up to 100% of available torque to the front wheels to help prevent slipping on loose surfaces. Other selectable drive modes include Mud & Ruts and Slippery.
